Service Centres
Well balanced, affordable nutritious midday meals are the main reason why most old folk attend the service centres.
Our three service centres are open on weekdays to provide midday meals and opportunities for social interaction.
Benefitting the older person or grant recipient who is still resident in the community, primarily those who live alone.
- Eleanor Murray Service Centre is situated at Buffelsfontein Villlage on the corner of 17th Avenue and Buffelsfontein Road
- Cuylerholme Rooms Service Centre is in 42 Western Road in Central
- Silver Stars Service Centre is in Highfield Road, Schauderville and incorporates Busy Hands, Young at Heart and Sameach.
The centres are open and easily accessible to all older residents of the Metro, including the disadvantaged areas of Schauderville and Walmer Township.
Although the centres are within walking distance for most members, provision is made for transport to and from the centres as well as for accompanied shopping trips and to places of interest in and around the Metro.
All three the centres have a full and varied, planned activity programme and at Eleanor Murray Service Centre members are encouraged to participate in the skills development programme

What is donor deductable status?
Algoa Bay Council for the Aged has donor deductible status by virtue of being a register Public Benefit Organisation. This enables ABCA to, under restrictive conditions, issue 18A receipts for donations of a specific type and nature. Not all donations will qualify for 18A status and the qualifying criteria are as determined by the SA Revenue Services in legislation.
