Our Objectives

To render those direct services that meets the physical and emotional needs of the aged, disabled, retired, sick, frail and/or those with similar needs.

To provide care and counseling to those over 60, particularly the indigent, physically and/or mentally abused, traumatized, terminally ill, physically/mentally impaired, those afflicted or affected by HIV/AIDS and the families of all of the above.

Sponsor/promote and act as a forum for the discussion of common interests and problems among representatives of organizations caring for those persons referred to in objectives 1 & 2.

Construct, lease or purchase and maintain dwellings, service centres and/or housing schemes for those persons referred to in objectives 1 and 2.

Co-operate with other non-profit organizations interested or engaged in the fields of service as stated in objectives 1 and 2 and assist them with advice and/or engage in joint ventures.

Algoa Bay Council for the Aged has donor deductible status by virtue of being a register Public Benefit Organisation. This enables ABCA to, under restrictive conditions, issue 18A receipts for donations of a specific type and nature. Not all donations will qualify for 18A status and the qualifying criteria are as determined by the SA Revenue Services in legislation.
