It is important to Algoa Bay Council for the Aged, acronym ABCA, to respect your privacy regarding any information collected whilst we operate and interact with you on our website www.abca.co.za. We value your trust. Visitors to www.abca.co.za are required to provide their name and a valid email address to participate in activities on the website, including when making a donation, purchasing golf packages, making a monthly or any other pledge or purchasing tickets to events or participating in competitions etc. ABCA collects this data to provide appropriate acknowledgement and documentation to the donor and for the purpose of providing the donor who qualifies with a valid tax-deductible receipt. ABCA collects the following information through our secure online financial-transaction pages: name, address, e-mail address, phone number, and credit card information. This personally identifiable information is used to acknowledge receipt of your donation for tax purposes and to include you on ABCA’s mailing list if you choose to join it. We care about the security of your transactions and apply industry-standard practices and technologies to safeguard your credit card information.

When you send a donation in honour or in memory of someone and request that an acknowledgement be sent to another individual or a family, we will use the name and address of that individual or family for acknowledgement purposes only.

SECURITY

We use high-grade encryption and the secure https protocol to communicate with your browser software, which guards against interception of the credit card information you give us. We also employ several different security techniques to protect your personally identifiable information from unauthorized access by users inside and outside the organization. Computer systems are maintained in accordance with industry standards to secure information. GATHERING OF PERSONAL AND PERSONAL IDENTIFYING INFORMATION

What is donor deductable status? What is donor deductable status?

Algoa Bay Council for the Aged has donor deductible status by virtue of being a register Public Benefit Organisation. This enables ABCA to, under restrictive conditions, issue 18A receipts for donations of a specific type and nature. Not all donations will qualify for 18A status and the qualifying criteria are as determined by the SA Revenue Services in legislation.
