WHEN MAKING A DONATION
When you make a donation to Algoa Bay Council for the Aged, (Acronym ABCA) , irrespective of it being directly on the donation/sponsorship page or a related page, Algoa Bay Council for the Aged collects a variety of personal information about you in order to properly process your donation. This personal information may include your name, address, phone, email address, the message you have written to the cause or fundraiser, and the donation amount. ABCA endeavours not to share your personal information without your knowledge or permission.
When a payment is made on the Website the transaction is final and not disputable unless unauthorised use of your payment card is proved. If you become aware of fraudulent use of your card, or if it is lost or stolen, you must notify your card provider in accordance with its reporting rules. All donations are charitable gifts and are non-refundable.
Donations made with a stated purpose are restricted donations and will be applied for the purpose for which they are given, if at all possible. If the stated purpose becomes impossible at a later time then the donation will become an unrestricted donation for general charitable use by ABCA. Donations made without a stated purpose are unrestricted donations for general charitable use and may be applied to any ABCA project or purpose where the need is the greatest.
USE OF YOUR DONATION
Please note that when you are donating to or paying event fees ABCA will use your donation or payment at their discretion, but within their stated objectives. ABCA will endeavour to apply your funds to your specified purpose. However, this is not guaranteed and it is your responsibility to ensure that the funding you provided for a specific appeal or stated purpose, prior to you making the donation. ABCA will however ensure that the money raised will be applied to a specific purpose. In the event that this dialogue has not taken place, ABCA is entitled to allocate the funds raised wherever the need is greatest in furtherance of its charitable objectives. .

Algoa Bay Council for the Aged has donor deductible status by virtue of being a register Public Benefit Organisation. This enables ABCA to, under restrictive conditions, issue 18A receipts for donations of a specific type and nature. Not all donations will qualify for 18A status and the qualifying criteria are as determined by the SA Revenue Services in legislation.
